Volunteer Quotient Sustainable Training Scheme
This programme aimed to advocate continuous and progressive learning and boost volunteers' commitment and aspiration of helping others. Volunteers' advancement had always been a major emphasis of AVS. The Scheme adopts an intensive and progressive training mode to train up and equip volunteers in 'Cognitive', 'Affective' and 'Experiential' concept, to sustain their motivation and commitment, to promote the quality of services, and ultimately to bring utmost benefits to the community. Since October 2003, elementary, intermediate and advanced level progressive training programme were held quarterly to provide on-going learning opportunities for volunteers and interested parties.
Definition of the VQ concept

- VQ:Volunteer Quality
- VQ is a concept of promoting “Volunteer Quotient towards Volunteer Quality”. This pioneer training programme with progressive training mode is a train up volunteers with volunteer quotient elements of better knowledge, attitudes and practice required and to achieve in measures of both training hours and service hours.

Eligibility
- Aged 15 or above
- Will to provide volunteer service and to upgrade quality of the services provided
Tutors
Experienced tutors and trainers of the Agency or from professional bodies of related discipline
Venue
Agency for Volunteer Service Training and Development Centre
Certificate
Trainees will be granted with a Certificated of Attendance for individual course attended and a VQ Certificate after the completion of different levels of training series. Upon the completion of all 3 levels of training, trainees will be granted with a VQ Award to certify as a Quality Volunteer with Volunteer Quotient.
