Fight the Virus Together! Volunteer Project Series
The number of COVID-19 cases has increased dramatically in the fifth pandemic wave in 2022. However, AVS has never stopped our mission to promote volunteerism and fight the virus together with the community.

“Fight the Virus Together! Let’s do it” Volunteer Project
Sponsored by China Gas Charity Foundation Limited, AVS has launched the “Fight the Virus Together! Let’s do it” Volunteer Project in response to the community’s needs by delivering caring packs and food to the needy elderly who lacks support.

“Fight the Virus Together! Everyone” Volunteer Campaign
Over a hundred community leaders and volunteers from various sectors, including the medical and health services sector, Government, social welfare sector and artists, were invited to encourage the public and volunteers to face the pandemic positively by delivering positive energy to the people of Hong Kong through videos.

Support The Federation of Medical Societies of Hong Kong for vaccinations for the elderly
To strengthen the vaccination barrier in the hostels for the elderly and the mentally disabled persons, AVS recruited volunteers to support the health care team arranged by The Federation of Medical Societies of Hong Kong to start the first phase of vaccination service from March 4 to 18 for over 40 centres, about 300 elderly and mentally handicapped persons were vaccinated.

Assist HAD district offices in packaging Rapid Antigen Test kits
Many patients and persons under home isolation need Rapid Antigen Test kits during the outbreak. Since January, we have referred volunteers to support the Home Affairs Department in packing the kits in different districts. As of late February, more than 350 volunteers participated, and over 1,400 hours of service were recorded.

``Care for Sub-divided flat resident`` Zoom Meeting
AVS works with non-profit organizations to contact professional volunteers to provide support, especially for the needs of low-income and ethnic minority families living in sub-divided units.

Distribute the donated anti-pandemic supplies
With the kind donations from "一群關心您的律師" and " MK61 - 一群關心您的行山朋友", the anti-pandemic materials were delivered to the Salvation Army's Yaumatei Integrated Service for Young People, Principal Chan Free Tutorial World and the Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service for sharing to the families living in sub-divided units, low-income families and ethnic minorities.

“Volunteer from Home, Fight Coronavirus Together”
A series of "Volunteers from Home" services have been launched, inviting the volunteers to send care and assistance to those in need through phone calls, SMS or WhatsApp, etc. Volunteers are also encouraged to make and deliver small gifts during festive seasons, especially for those who are fighting the pandemic at home and those in need.
