I. General Information

1. How do I get to The Arcade, Cyberport?
It is located at 100 Cyberport Road, Telegraph Bay, we suggest participants to commute by public transportations as follows:

2. If I drive to the venue, is parking available?
Parking spaces are available at Cyberport.

3. Will participants of Run and Walk be insured?
AVS will take out Group Personal Accident insurance for participants aged 3 to 85. However, participants should be aware of their own safety. We strongly recommend all participants to check their health condition by qualified medical practitioners before joining either the Run or Walk. We also encourage all participants to cover for their own personal accident insurance at their own expense if need be.

II. Enrollment and Acceptance

4. How much is the enrolment fee for the 10km Charity Run?
We do not charge any enrolment fee but each participant will have to make a minimum donation of HK$300.

5. What is the enrolment procedure?
Please refer to online registration or to download enrolment form here

6. Is there a deadline for enrolment?
Enrolment deadline is 22 September 2017(Friday). Participants are required to enrol and submit minimum donation before the deadline.

7. How do I know my application is accepted?
Participant will receive a confirmation e-mail together with other important information regarding the Run Race if your application is accepted.

8. I wish to compete for the Fundraising Award, when shall I submit my donations?
Donations received on or before 22 September 2017 (Friday) will be counted for the Fundraising Award.

9. Can I donate more than the minimum amount for participation?
You are most welcome to do so! Participants are welcome to raise additional funds even after enrolment, please send us the sponsorship form(s), donation and related donation document(s) (e.g. ATM receipt, bank deposit receipt or crossed cheque) by post or fax on or before 30 November, 2017 for issuance of official receipt.

10. How do I submit the sponsorship information and the donation if I register online?
Participants may download the sponsorship form here, complete and send it together with the donation and related donation document(s) by e-mail, fax or by post to Agency for Volunteer Service.

11. When will the donation receipts be available?
AVS will issue tax-deductible receipt for donation of HK$100 or above to each participant and/or sponsor within 2 months upon receiving the completed sponsorship form(s), donations and related document(s). Participants / contact persons of the Event are requested to kindly help distribute such receipts to individual sponsors.

III. Preparation for the Race

12. When and where do I pick up the runner’s pack?
You will receive the runner’s pack information via e-mail about 3 weeks before the event.

13. Can I authorize a representative to collect the runner’s pack on my behalf?
Yes. Please complete the “Letter of Authorization” (attached to the Collection Letter) and have its original copy and a copy of your ID Card presented by your representative while collection.

14. Can I collect the Runner’s pack by post?
No. Runner’s pack will not be delivered by post.

15. What kind of support will be provided to Runners?
You will be provided with:

  1. Runner’s Pack: number bib, safety pins, baggage tag and remarks
  2. Water: will be provided at water stations located at the starting point,       en route and at the finishing point
  3. Other services: baggage storage and changing room at the starting   point; and first-aid stations located at the starting point, en route and at the finishing point.

16. What should I bring to the Event?
All runners should bring with them their number bib and safety pins.  If you would like to store your belongings with us, please bring along Baggage Tag (included in your Runner’s Pack). Please note that NO storage bag will be provided in the baggage area and bring NO valuable items. The organizer is not responsible for the lost or any damage of your baggage stored.

IV. Event Day

17. Do I need to check-in or report to the event officials upon arrival?
No check-in process is required. Just proceed to the starting zone 10 minutes before the Run Race (i.e. 10 km at 7:50am; 3 km at 8:05am) to get ready. Deposit your baggage in advance if necessary.

18. Where are the water stations?
Please refer to the route map.

V. Timing System and Results

19. Can I get a new Number bib on Event Day if I forget to bring mine?
No number bib will be re-issued on the Event Day.

20. Can I switch number bib with another participant?
No. The number bib are non-transferable since all the participant’s information has been matched with the number bib before the Run Race. If a non-registered person were using the number bib, your result and the user’s result would both be disqualified.

21. Is the split time recorded?
Yes. The split time check-point will be located at 10km turning point at Ma On Shan Waterfront Promenade.

22. When and where can I check my Run Race result?
Run Race result will be uploaded to the Event website in November 2017 for participants’ review.

23. Do I still get a Run Race result if I am unable to finish the Run Race within the time limit?
If you were unable to finish the Run Race within the time limit, your result would not be published.

VI. Award & Prize Presentation Ceremony

24. What is the difference between the Official Gun Time and the Chip Time?
Official Gun Time refers to the time from the sound of the starter’s signal to the time when you cross the finish line. Chip Time refers to the time you cross the starting mats at the start line to the time when you cross the finishing mats at the finish line.

25. Are prizes presented according to the Official Gun Time or the Chip Time?
Prizes are presented according to the Official Gun Time. Chip Time is only for personal reference.

26. When and where will the prize presentation ceremony be held?
The prize presentation ceremony will be held on the Event Day (22 October, 2017) at 11:00am in the Cyberport, The Arcade.
