Tai Po Wang Fuk Court Fire

On 26 November 2025, a devastating fire accident at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po caused severe casualties and grief across the city. The Agency for Volunteer Service (AVS) extends its deepest condolences to all those affected by this tragedy.

This has also revealed the strength of community spirit. Individuals and organisations have come together, offering donations and volunteer support to help victims through this difficult time.
Volunteers assisted residents affected by the Tai Po fire incidents at their transitional housing by assembling bed frames, delivering mattresses, and installing anti-slip handrails.
Chinese and Western medicine practitioners, nurses, and pharmacists established a medical service station at the transitional housing to provide free medical consultation services for the affected residents.
AVS launched a volunteer recruitment drive on 27 November. As of December 4, more than 120 organisations and 28,000 volunteers have registered to assist. We continue to work closely with government departments and social welfare groups to deliver essential volunteer services, including legal advice, insurance guidance, and psychological counselling.
