Agency for Volunteer Service ("AVS") founded in 1970, is a non profit organization with charity status mainly financed by funds from the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, The Community Chest of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, and public and private donations.

Co-organized by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Agency for Volunteer Service (“AVS”), the Hong Kong Volunteer Award (“HKV-Award”) is dedicated to recognizing the contributions and achievements of outstanding volunteers, and corporations, organizations from different sectors, and of cross-sectoral partnership projects. The Award is to motivate more people, particularly the youth, to participate in volunteering, care for the underprivileged and share the love to inherit the spirit of volunteerism to build a caring and inclusive society.
Funded by the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education(“CPCE”), the Agency for Volunteer Service (“AVS”) launched the V-HK Illustration Design Competition & Elderly Home Visiting in 2021-22, with the aim to place greater emphasis on "Respect" and "Responsibility" while continue to promote "Love" and "Inclusiveness" through the Illustration Design Competition by the family and students as well as the elderly home visiting by the student volunteer teams during the weeks of “Senior Citizen’s Day” and “International Volunteer Day”.
“Books for Love @ $10” is co-organized by the Swire Properties Community Ambassador Programme, the Agency for Volunteer Service (AVS) and the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong (BGCA). It is now in the tenth run since 2009. A special offer of “Buy 10 for 11” is launched for all book lovers to celebrate this milestone. 10 illustrators were teamed up to showcase their inspiring illustrations on Facebook and Instagram pages.
